Dear Friends,
Math Circles of Chicago is an organization I chose to support because I believe that every child should have access to challenging, engaging, fun mathematics--the kind I had in math programs and contests, and the kind I offered to my students in classes, in summer programs, and on the contests I co-authored. Math Circles of Chicago unlocks the power of math for children who need it the most. Whether it’s a child who loves math and wants a further challenge, or one who’s finding their interest in the subject diminishing, MC2 exposes them to effective math instruction and an interesting approach to mathematics.
Math Circles of Chicago programs are free of charge and located at accessible sites across the city. Please join on this important fundraising day so they can reach event more children across Chicago with this incomparable math experience.
Thank you for your support!
In 2018, Math Circles of Chicago raised $21,555. With 200 more students this year, their work in four homeless shelters, and piloted partnerships with other after school programs to expand their impact further, the goal for Giving Tuesday 2019 is $33,013.
For the 2019-20 school year, Math Circles of Chicago will serve 750 children in our academic year sessions, 225 children in our summer camps, and 150 students who will participate in the QED Math Symposium. With an operating budget of $311,778 this equates to $277.14 per quarter per child.
Your contribution will support 750 fifth through twelfth graders at eight sites across Chicago engaging in exploratory math curriculum that is cooperative, fun, and accessible to all.
Thank you for being a part of this global day of philanthropy and supporting our efforts!
Today is the day. Each year Giving Tuesday is Math Circles of Chicago's largest single fundraising event. Please join me in supporting this amazing non-profit and help me reach my fundraising goal.
