LEAVE A LASTING IMPACT ON MATH CIRCLES OF CHICAGO
Planned giving allows you to leave a legacy of support for MC2 in many ways that you may not be able to do during your lifetime. These ways to give may also provide tax benefits for you. By supporting MC2 through planned giving, you can help us ensure that we are able to continue to fulfill our mission to create opportunities for all children across Chicago to develop a passion for mathematics today and for years to come.

Why Consider Participating in Planned Giving?
Planned giving donations may help you avoid capital gains taxes, receive tax deductions upfront, and may have other financial benefits for you and your family. These legacy gifts help us expand our reach and ensure that our work continues in perpetuity.
How to Participate in Planned Giving?
There are many ways to participate in planned giving with Math Circles of Chicago. Here are some of the most common vehicles:
Wills and Trusts (Bequests)
Join our community of support by making a gift to Math Circles of Chicago in your will or trust. Wills and trusts are the most common planned gift. You may adjust your plans at any time if life circumstances change. This type of donation to MC2 in your will or living trust helps ensure that we continue our mission for years to come.
You can make a charitable donation by naming Math Circles of Chicago as a beneficiary in your will. The federal government encourages these gifts or bequests by allowing an unlimited estate-tax charitable deduction. There are four ways you can make a bequest:
General Bequest
This is the most popular type of charitable bequest. You simply leave a specified dollar amount to the designated charity.
Residual Bequest
Your estate will cover all debts, taxes, expenses, and specific bequests. The remaining amount — the residue — will be transferred to Math Circles of Chicago.
Contingent Bequest
You can ask that Math Circles of Chicago receive all or a portion of your estate only under certain circumstances. For example, you can name MC2 as a beneficiary of your estate only if there are no surviving close family members. Childless couples sometimes provide for the entire estate to go to the surviving spouse, or if the spouse does not survive, to Math Circles of Chicago.
Percentage Bequest
You can designate a percentage of the estate or of the residual estate. If the size of the estate changes, the bequest to Math Circles of Chicago will change in the same proportion.
If you are interested in naming Math Circles of Chicago in your bequest, we suggest the following language: “I hereby give, devise and bequeath (dollar amount or description of gift) to Math Circles of Chicago, a nonprofit organization located at 2907 S. Wabash, #100B, Chicago IL 60616, Federal Tax ID #45-2071512, for its general use and purpose.”
